Tyson Cobb, MD
Dr. Tyson Cobb is a semi-retired orthopedic surgeon with over 40 years of investing experience across multiple asset classes. Seeking greater stability and stronger returns, he transitioned from the volatility of the stock market to real estate investments, building a portfolio that now exceeds $1B in commercial assets.
Dr. Cobb holds a B.S. in Animal Science from Texas A&M University and an M.D. from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency and a master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences – Orthopaedics at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in Hand, Upper Extremity, and Microvascular Surgery at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center. He has published over 50 research articles in peer-reviewed orthopedic surgery journals. Today, he applies the same research skills to the evaluation of real estate investment opportunities. This highly honed research expertise, developed at the Mayo Clinic, allows him to effectively assess risk and identify high-quality investments.
Tyson focuses his real estate investments on high-impact asset classes, including multifamily housing, triple-net dental/healthcare commercial properties, and infrastructure building business acquisitions and roll-ups. His portfolio also includes self storage, oil and gas, car washes, vineyards, farmland, marinas, hotels, and tax strategy investments—reflecting a broad diversification strategy across uncorrelated industries.
Internationally recognized in his medical field, Dr. Cobb served as President of the International Wrist Arthroscopy Society. He has presented his work at medical conferences across Germany, Italy, China, France, and Australia, and his research contributions include numerous peer-reviewed publications and medical textbooks.
He is deeply committed to philanthropy, supporting charitable organizations focused on community development and making a change in the trajectory of children’s lives. He currently serves on the boards of Camp Shalom Christian Camp and Wildwood Hills Ranch of Iowa. His charitable work reflects a belief in purposeful giving that creates lasting change.
Tyson also works closely with investors—including family offices—to curate strategic opportunities that align with their specific investment mandates. He is frequently able to negotiate superior returns for his investment network and keeps skin in the game by investing alongside his investors. By offering direct access to carefully vetted deals and structuring partnerships around investor-defined objectives, he builds long-term relationships based on trust, alignment, and performance.
