Steve Hamlin

Former Chair, Sasser Family Holdings

Steve Hamlin is a fourth-generation member of the Sasser family, the family behind Sasser Family Companies, a long-standing privately held transportation asset leasing and management group with roots dating back to 1928. The Sasser platform owns and operates multiple transportation-focused businesses across rail, fleet management, truck rental, aviation, and industrial asset services.

Hamlin served on the Sasser Family Council beginning in 2007 and was Chairman of the council from 2011 to 2015, helping oversee governance and stewardship initiatives tied to the multigenerational family enterprise. In 2016, he was appointed Associate Director of the Sasser Family Holdings Board of Directors as part of the company’s long-term leadership and governance succession planning.

He is recognized within the family business and governance community for his involvement in multigenerational ownership strategy and family enterprise leadership. Hamlin is also a graduate and active participant of Loyola University Chicago’s Family Business Stewardship Institute, a program focused on governance, continuity, and responsible ownership among family-controlled businesses.
