Hawa Hashimi is a proud 2025 graduate of Niles North High School and a standout AVID scholar, whose achievements reflect her drive, leadership, and academic excellence. During her time at Niles North, she was selected as a prestigious 2025 Chick Evans Scholar and honored as a 2024 National Student Speaker at AVID’s Summer Institute in San Antonio, Texas.

This fall, Hawa will attend the University of Wisconsin–Madison on a full-ride academic and housing scholarship. She plans to major in biomedical engineering in the College of Engineering, with aspirations of pursuing a career in medicine. Hawa’s journey is a testament to the power of determination, opportunity, and the AVID experience.
