Christopher A. Sommer is a longtime business executive and family enterprise leader based in Springfield, Illinois, with decades of experience spanning energy, investments, operations, and strategic management. He currently serves in corporate strategy leadership at Sommer Asset Management while also leading [Harper Oil Co.] as Chief Executive Officer, continuing the growth and stewardship of one of the region’s longstanding privately held fuel and convenience retail businesses.

The Sommer family has built a multigenerational business platform with roots in fuel distribution, retail operations, real estate, and private investments. The family previously operated Harper on the Way convenience stores across more than 30 communities before transitioning into broader investment and asset management activities.
