Ankita Narula
Ankita is currently serving as the Vice President, Development, Akshaya Patra USA. She travels extensively and meets the volunteers, donors, board members across the country to promote fundraising efforts and strengthen communities. She joined Akshaya Patra as a Director of development after graduating from MBA in Boston in 2015. She experienced serval promotions within the organization and recently became the youngest VP in the entire team. She has been passionate about non-profits since her school days and has volunteered for various non-profits. She was also a campus ambassador for a non-profit – Art of living while pursuing a full-time MBA in Boston and represented the club on a national level among all Ivy League schools. Akshaya Patra is very close to her heart as she always wanted to be a part of an initiative of eradicating hunger.
Akshaya Patra is the world’s largest mid-day meal program serving nutritious school lunches to over 1.8 million children daily. Meals are served to children in 19,275 schools across 12 states and 2 Union Territories in India. 58 innovative kitchens in operation to cook and distribute hot, nutritious meals. 800 custom-built trucks deliver the food (65 degrees C) to the school children. We employ over 7,300 men and women, 30% of the workforce is comprised of women. Served 3.3 billion and counting. The only NGO in India to be in the ICAI Hall of Fame.
During covid, Akshaya Patra has served more than 200 million Covid meals to the migrant workers, frontline workers and other covid beneficiaries.
Akshaya Patra is recognized by United Nations for serving 4 billionth meal this year!
